What do you consider to be your best facial feature?

My eyebrows are on fleek and usually do all the talking for me.

I love my whole face, but I think my forehead is the most expressive.

I’m a bit shy and prefer not to draw attention to my face, but I do have nice, thick hair that’s easy to hide behind.

My cheekbones are decent, and would be nicely accented with some framing lengths.

2 / 9

What’s your styling routine like?

I’m a wash and wear, put it up in a pony kinda gal.

There’s no length too great to put the right polish on your style. I always have the flat iron ready to smooth away an unruly lock.

Oh, I’m pretty easygoing. A bit of a scrunch and spritz with some product and I’m out the door.

I like to blowdry my hair forward into my face and cover my forehead with a nice, thick fringe. Even better if I can add some glasses.

3 / 9

What’s your signature fashion style?

Boho Chic. Parted down the middle with some beachy tousle. Paired with vintage threads and a low-maintenance vibe.

Rockabilly Vintage. Dynamic micro-fringe and 50s chic, boldly beautiful.

Librarian Glam. Soft and face-framing, you’ve got a quiet charm. But you know what they say about the quiet ones.

Carefree Covergirl. You meet the world with your best face forward, unencumbered by fringe or fancy fashion trends.

4 / 9

How often do you let the professionals handle the bang trims?

I’m there biweekly for my regularly scheduled maintenance.

Oh, I let my stylist touch up my home trims jobs every time I’m in for a big haircut.

Yearly?

... I always trim them myself.

5 / 9

If your bangs could talk, what would they say about you?

I’m one bad@$$ beauty!

Who’s got two thumbs and loves to stay on trend?

Please don’t notice me!

No thanks, I don’t need a bobby pin.

6 / 9

Who’s your fictional style icon?

Rory Gilmore. The shy, bookish, and surprisingly plucky beloved bookworm of Stars Hollow.

Mia Wallace. Pulp Fiction’s boldly stylish leading lady, always up for winning a dance competition and a 5 Dollar Milkshake.

Cassie Bowden. Serving up style a Mile High, the flight attendant is here for all your cocktail needs.

Lorelei Gilmore. A fringeless beauty with no time to fuss while she takes Stars Hollow by storm.

7 / 9

You just won a gift basket from your favorite salon. What’s in it?

All the scrunchies my little heart could desire, and a fantastic 1” curling rod.

A Bang trim loyalty card, a mini-flat iron, and some finishing spray.

A bookmark, some hairspray, and a round-brush.

A magazine full of current hairstyles, some sea-salt spray, and a travel size hairspray!

8 / 9

What's your dirty hair secret?

My bangs look innocent, but that’s not all I am.

Always be trending.

It’s dirty. No secret.

I’m not a dominatrix, my fringe just plays one on TV.

Hey, there… Baby Bangs!

Your style is bangin’, to say the least! Always chic and a little on the fierce side, you aren’t afraid to flaunt your feminist femininity with a frisky micro-fringe that’s just short enough to let your eyebrows do the talking.

Style icons like Betty Page, Emma Watson, and Cara Delevingne know how fun and flirty these tiny forehead grazers can be, and you’re happy to be in such trendy company.

Your bold, sassy style is nicely balanced by your love of the soft feminine designs of vintage yore, and it wouldn’t be completely out of character for you to show up to a party in full Rockabilly splendor.

In fact, there isn’t a show you can’t steal, and your fringe is your advertisement to the world that you’re here to take center stage.

Here are some tips for you to keep your bangs bangin’…

Because the length of your fringe is so key to your style, it’s doubly important to make sure you keep up on your maintenance visits to your stylist. Book your bang trims every 2 - 3 weeks to keep your micro-fringe on fleek.

Support your style in between visits with a styling mousse and finishing spray to set your style for smooth success all day long!

“I went and cut the bangs and I’ve been wearing them ever since. They say it’s my trademark.”

– Betty Page

Bangin’ DIY

*Bangry (Adj.) A feeling of anger experienced by stylists when clients cut their own bangs.

You don’t want to provoke the banger of your hairstylist and favorite fringe friend by showing up to your appointment with hacked-up bangs and a lukewarm coffee. Follow these easy steps to tweak your fringe at home – and maybe even fool your stylist into thinking you had a hair affair!

1. Do it Dry

Wet hair is a completely different creature than dry hair, and it’s never more important to remember that than when you’re trimming your own bangs.

What starts as a brow grazing schoolgirl bang can quickly spring up to a micro-fringe in no time, leaving you looking surprised until they grow in again.

2. Just a hair at a time

At home bang maintenance isn’t something that should be rushed, so make sure you have the time to do the job right.

Holding your kitchen scissors, cuticle trimmers, or crafting cheers vertically, take small snips up into the fringe to avoid creating harsh horizontal chop marks. Work your way from the center outwards, checking for balance as you go.

Remember, you can always cut more, but once you’ve cut too much, only time can fix it.

Check out our YouTube video On Bang Trim Dos and Don'ts, and don’t forget to book your next visit to tidy up your no doubt heroic efforts.

3. Style with confidence

Very few people have the kind of hair that dries naturally into the perfectly smooth fringe of movie-stardom glory.

For the rest of us, it’s up to the right tools and styling products to get the job done right.

As soon as you get out of the shower, it’s important to tame your fringe before nature takes over and leaves you with an awkward cowlick in the middle of your forehead.

Apply styling products. We recommend Bang Tamer, a great styling mousse designed to plump your fringe and hold it in place all day long.

Using a flat brush with strong bristles, blow dry your bangs by brushing them down your forehead and side to side. This will tame any natural curl patterns and ensure that your fringe doesn’t flip out on you.

Once your pesky roots are smoothed, create any bounce and bend you desire with a round-brush.

For really stubborn bangs, you might need to call in the heat. Use a narrow flat iron to smooth coarser or curlier hair textures, but don’t forget a heat protector! We like Fahrenheit Follicle Fortifier.

Spritz with your favorite finishing spray, like Bangarang All-Day Set, and go on about your fabulous day.

*Pro Tip*

Use a dry shampoo like Morning After to refresh lifeless, greasy bangs in between wash days.

Hey there… Curtain Bangs

Always ready for the newest trend, the curtain bangs you’ve been seeing have really caught your eye. You love the soft romance of peeking at the world from the flirty edges of your curtain fringe, and love how they compliment the disheveled chic of a shag haircut.

You're a charismatic people person with a beat on the pulse of what's happening. No wonder you’ve chosen to set the trend with boho bangs and effortless tousled fun.

Perfect for peeking out from under a wide-brimmed hat, sandy from a day at the beach, your curtain fringe will playfully frame your face and do the flirting for you.

Not one to spend ages fine-tuning your style, you love that a curtain bang is forgiving when all you have time for is a quick scrunch-and-go.

Here are some tips for you to keep your bangs bangin’…

Because tousled is your signature, smoothing products aren’t necessarily your go-to when you’re running out the door.

Instead, splash your hair, and your bangs, with a quick spritz of sea salt spray like HighTide, to give your locks that beachy texture – without all the sand in uncomfortable places.

“Bangs speak louder than words.”

💥 Beware the woman who is about to get bangs.💥

Hey there… Schoolgirl Fringe

A little shy until you get to know people, you’re happy to hide behind a thick, face framing schoolgirl fringe.

Heavily influenced by the cute styling of Zooey Deschanel and Taylor Swift, you love how sweet and unassuming a heavy fringe can appear.

Little do people know, there are layers hidden behind those lash-grazing locks – layers that are worth getting to know.

A bit of an introvert, it’s easy for people to see your innocent bangs and dismiss you as shy and quiet, but there’s some truth to the naughty librarian trope, and you like to think you’d surprise someone who took the time to delve a little deeper than your wholesome image.

Here are some tips to keep your bangs bangin’...

Smooth and bouncy are the name of the game with schoolgirl bangs, so make sure you’ve got a nice big round brush to tame any cowlicks and settle your fringe into it’s happy place. I’d recommend a 1 ½” - 2” diameter ceramic brush like the BangBuster.

“Why do women love bangs? It’s cheaper than botox.”

💥 Beware the woman who is about to get bangs.💥

Hey there... Fringeless!

You – bold and beautiful you – are not afraid of your forehead. In fact, you’re so daring as to bare it completely, without the aid of a fringe to hide the expressive expanse of your furrowed brow.

Not to be bothered with the fuss and muss of styling your fringe, you’ve let it all grow out past your chin (gasp) and are brazenly tucking it behind your ears.

Secretly the inspiration for jealous gazes at the gym, you tuck your hair up into an effortless yoga bun – without a jungle of bobby pins to secure it out of your eyes.

Top-knot, side part, middle part, braid, there’s not a single piece of hair short enough to poke you in the eyes and you wouldn’t have it any other way.

Just because you don’t have any bangs doesn’t mean I can’t give you some tips on how to keep them bangin’...

The front parts of your hair can be the most fragile so if you want your fringe section to stay long and healthy without any pesky breakage, you might want to use a leave-in conditioner like Fray Away, a split end mender and detangler.

And all the heavy hair can sometimes drag your face down a bit. Wrap those front sections around a large barrel curling rod to give them some lift and style, but be sure to use a heat protector like Fahrenheit Follicle Fortifier to keep your ends from frying like bacon.

“While bangs don’t look good on everybody, confidence does.”
