Grumpy Baby
How hard do you have to try to get your grump to smile? Not uncommon! You also find that it's hard to dress and diaper your little one - she is constantly fighting you; going stiff, becoming fidgety and irritable.
Sleep is a challenge for a Grumpy baby. She hates being swaddled, but needs stimulation removed to get a good sleep. A consistent routine can help reduce tantrums, defiance, and sleepless nights. Veering from it, however slight, will cause displeasure.
Feeding has been difficult, hasn't it? Getting your breast-fed babe to latch and stay on was a challenge, I bet. Even solids were slow to adapt for your Grumpy baby. She likely gets impatient if food isn't presented the moment she wants it (or if it's not the exact way she wants it!).
She is social when she wants to be, but tends to hold back to assess new situations. Likely prefers to play on her own, resenting other kids being in her space, and can become frustrated easily.
She likely finds it hard to express herself, which can result in pushing or biting. It's important not to force her to do anything, but rather, let her explore and decide for herself.
Grumpy babies teach their parents patience - something we could all use more of. They're also good at maintaining their own boundaries. They tend to be independent and good at taking care of themselves, suggesting they are "old souls".
