  You have clear documented in house policies and processes which can be easily accessed by your team. As things change rolling out updates is inconsistent and it is hard to tell whether everyone understands them and are operating under the same set of standards.

You have marketing materials that support all of your offerings to include case studies. You know your ideal customer and there is no ambiguity about what makes you different from others in your industry.

  Delivering your products and services happens a little differently each time depending on who is involved. Getting work done each day can be a struggle because there are no consistent timelines or processes in place. You have a combination of great days and disorganised days but everything works out in the end and your customers still receive value.

  You've started the process of formalising of how you do what you do and introduced some technology to help provide consistency. Roles and responsibilities are clear. You are working on developing best practices for every service and share progress with your team.

  Your processes for delivering your products are streamlined and consistent. You have step by step instructions for everything that happens in your business which is documented in a place that all employees can access. Team members understand their own role in these processes but are also cross trained on the basics of what others do in order to understand how they fit into the overall picture.

  Most of your business come through word of mouth referrals and you don't yet have a defined system to attract new customers to your company. You post "stuff" on Social Media and send out an occasional newsletter but this is still fragmented and done only when you have time. You're still trying to figure out what messaging resonates with your ideal customers.

  Your marketing is more intentional and you know which channels work best for reaching your customers. You've identified the messages that resonate the best and use them throughout your materials to start conversations. You use automation tools to deliver messages consistently and post content that is valuable to your audience.

  You have defined multiple lead sources and specific funnels in place which you can turn on if you need to to attract new business or off when you're at capacity. You have a predictable way of turning enquiries into paying customers. You have full brand standards that define the voice, tone and personality of your business. You have a step by step process for doing all of this so it can be outsourced if desired.

  You don't have a formalised system for attracting or following up with enquiries. They are dealt with by whoever answers the phone or emails.

  Your team is trained to deal with most enquiries and can competently turn those enquiries into bookings and sales. You have a system set up to track how well the enquiries are converting into sales.

  Your business has clear documented processes for dealing with all types of enquiries that are handled by the team. The business owner/manager has time to spend on training and coaching your team in improving their sales skills.

  You don't start looking for your next hire until you desperately need them. Job descriptions are generic and the people you bring onto the team largely have to figure things out for themselves. You have some great talent on your team and you're trying to figure out how to get more of the same.

  You have a streamlined hiring system in place. You have formalised your core values which lead your search and selection process to ensure you find the right people for the role/s. You offer opportunities for further training and development but not everyone takes you up on them or sees the value.

  Hiring is a breeze for you because you have a repeatable process for posting jobs, creating job descriptions and onboarding plans that get new hires up to speed quickly. You can anticipate when you need more people months ahead of time and have several people trained in the hiring and onboarding process. This means you always have the time to select wisely.

  You don't have a lot of Tech stack apart from your industry specific software and email provider. You communicate with your customers via phone and email. Internal communications are largely via email, diary notes or word of mouth

You have a robust internal communication system that's used to provide timely updates to the team and allows for instant feedback. Specific people on your team use certain tools to help them get things done but overall technology is not used uniformly across the team.

  You have made significant investments of time and money in setting up the right tools for your company which everyone uses. This includes in house training platform - customer records & communication software. Your customers can reach you via social media messaging as well as email. You have a stack of templates and scripts for employees to use across every activity that keeps things consistent and saves time.

  Right now you lead by doing. Your goal is to be a great example to others. Sometimes it's easier for you to do a job than manage an employee through it because you don't have the time or resources to teach them. You don't yet have a formal review process in place to plan future performance or progress.

  You have a management team and a daily rhythm of getting things done in an organised way. You have regular meetings to ensure everyone on the team understands their roles and their performance is monitored against collaboratively set goals.
- C.
  You have company wide system of accountability for each role and set monthly - quarterly goals for each. You track key performance indicators to constantly know if you're on track or need to course correct. Managers spend more time coaching rather then correcting. You're happy with your team and would re-hire most or all of them again.
