Your Results Are In! Bring Back Calmness
HEY! You’re here! (And I gotta say it … ) What works for your best girlfriend, mum, sister, daughter, or celebrity endorsements will most likely not work for you. IT’S TIME to let someone take over, show you what you need and what the possibilities are. It is quite straightforward (for me because I help with that all the time). There is a little science involved and if you are anything like me, and would like to know a little more about the subject that will benefit your skin, sit tight, I’ll explain it simply enough for you.First of all, sensitive skin is NOT a skin type. Your skin is a responsive organ and will react to internal and external triggers. In turn, a signaling cascade happens (because it’s our largest organ and has more than one function, besides providing protection the skin communicates with cells and systems underneath).Think of a tingling feeling, or flushed redness that can appear after having some hot spicy food, or a glass of wine. Each and every one is unique, just like our fingerprint, this is where a bespoke and tailored skin approach is the key to healthy functioning skin for life.Because, everyone responds differently to external influences, there are so many aspects that come into play and simply purchasing skin care and cosmetics based on sensitive skin, anti-aging, oily are misguided directions A blank approach doesn’t always work. Your skin has many important roles to fulfill. One of those functions is the regulation of temperature. The BLOODVESSELS AND CAPILLARIES dilate and contract when this happens, cooling the body down in hot weather and warming the body in colder weather. Here’s the thing: skincare is inherently sciencey, but LET'S EXPLAIN what happens to your skin in terms that don’t require a chemistry degree. Besides thermal protection, THE CAPILLARY NETWORK (VASCULAR SYSTEM) circulates nutrients and waste. Overstimulation can affect the complexion, (the color) of your skin, which leads to you looking in the mirror seeing sensitivity and irritation making you look redder and feel worse for wear.“Your skin classifies to be very reactive, and the microcirculation is easily affected by external elements. Many people struggle with their skin color and are often misdiagnosed with their skin conditions, thinking they have sensitive skin or assume they have inflammatory skin conditions. Based on my decade of clinical experience — NOT ALL REDNESS IS CREATED EQUAL, and this can be presented very differently on the skin. Your skin may appear red due to inflammation and irritation, rosacea couperosis, or acne.Topicals can help create a more substantial barrier, e.g., Vitamin C is a great ingredient to assist in a healthy capillary network. However, just like "all redness is not created equal", NOT all Vitamin C is created equal, and it pays off to check your label to see the strength and form of the ingredients present.Slowly introduce your active ingredients. Remember, visible capillaries are often accompanied by redness, implying inflammation can be present. This reduces the effect of your skin immunity and raises the immune response when your skin is exposed to external and internal elements and stressors. Skin Health Is More than “Skin Deep” — Change the way you think about skin & Adopt This Multi-Layered Philosophy — inside-out therapy to Have Healthier Skin for Life Here are some changes you can make to achieve long term wins when it comes to getting glowing vibrant skin: 1. Avoid extremes of hot and cold temperatures on the skin to minimize stress on the capillary system. Long exposure to the sun, air, even hot spicy foods, and caffeine can result in a negative effect on microcirculation. 2. Select makeup to hide your redness choose carefully and opt for mineral makeup. The product needs to allow the skin to breathe. Avoid products with petroleum-derived ingredients, they have an occlusive effect on the skin. 3. Skincare treatments that suit your skin. Your skin expert will select for you the best treatment creating real results. Treatments should support cells and systems, without creating a negative flow-on-effect.
