Indulger
As an Indulger, you are not afraid to use your money. For some, this might mean meaningful experiences with friends and family, vacations and massages, or it may mean designer clothes, shoes, cars and a beautiful home. For others, it may mean spending emotionally, sometimes purchasing things you don’t need to fulfill a void in your life or soothe yourself in tough times. After all, what’s the point of working so hard if you can’t enjoy the fruits of your labor? Oftentimes, this lifestyle can be unsustainable. You may feel regret or guilt over certain purchases. You may also think to yourself, if I saved or invested as much as I spent, where would I be now? Sometimes, Indulgers may also be spending to feel better or to keep up with others, and that’s when indulging may not always be the best way to go.Profit Path:Whenever you spend money, write it down, and then, next to it, write down what you were feeling before you spent and then how it made you feel after the purchase. See if there’s a pattern. (You may also use this 30-day money tracker we created for this task.) Also, before spending money on any big ticket or luxury items (meaning not necessities), check to see if it aligns with your core values first. The more you’re spending towards your core values, the less guilt and regret you’ll feel afterwards. If you have a lot of credit card debt because of spending, tackle that next. Schedule a call to talk to me about shifting emotional spending habits to spending habits that align with your core values. And if you need additional support, schedule a call to talk to me about where those emotional spending habits came from, as well as how best to pay down debts.Hi👋, I’m Katy Chen Mazzara - your money mentor!
