You have . . . Skin that endures sun well
Woo Hoo!! Your skin is ideally suited to tanning both indoors and out - you will be able to achieve a beautiful, deep tan and will build up your natural protection with every session, you lucky thing you! We do recommend that every customer who comes into our salon starts with a 3 or 6 minute session for their first time. Our beds are very high quality, strong and are re-tubed way before they really reach the end of their maximum number of hours, so you can rest assured that you are always getting the most out of every session. This also means that our beds can, and will, burn even the most melanin-rich skin if you over-do it by taking too many minutes all at once or doing too many days without a break. Once you have had your trial session (the first one is on us by the way!!)you may feel like you want to take 9 or even 12 minute sessions, and that should be fine for you.Again it's important to leave a day or two after any session when you have increased your minutes to make sure that you don't over-do it. Also, if you feel like it's getting a bit too much then do just hop off a minute or two early . . . the difference between 6 minutes and 9 is much bigger than most people think so do exercise caution with any change of minutes. While you are developing your colour and trying to get darker we advise you to take 3 sessions a week minimum if you can. 2 sessions a week will get you there - but it will take quite a lot longer and if you're only taking one session a week then you won't get darker because the melanin-production effect will have worn off by the time you come back. It's definitely worth investing a bit of time in those first 2-3 weeks!Once you have the colour you want then reduce your sessions to once a week by all means and just up it to 2 or 3 if you have an event of holiday coming up for that little boost!Remember to always use a professional lotion designed for indoor tanning!Lots of people ask us whether using a lotion REALLY makes a difference to your tanning, the answer is 100% yes!! Our top quality professional lotions not only increase your melanin production but they are crammed full of antioxidants, vitamins, natural oils and moisturisers which work to improve skin condition.Furthermore, when you apply a lotion before tanning, you will experience:An increase in collagen synthesis, which will plump skin and combat the ageing process.Increased skin firmness, making skin look toned and tightened. The anti-wrinkle properties of professional tanning lotions, thanks to the high concentration of moisturising ingredients such as Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter and Natural Oils.Increased skin hydration, preventing a dry and dull appearance. The promotion of free radical scavenging, diminishing their presence on the skin and protecting from skin damage.Prevention of protein and lipid oxidative damage, therefore improving overall skin condition.Increased enzyme synthesis, which makes skin more effective at tanning. No tanning odours, as tanning lotions have been designed to leave you feeling and smelling fresh. In fact, it has been proven that when a lotion is applied, you improve your tanning results by up to 50%.This does not even include the improved results that can be seen when you apply lotions which include different bronzing agents. These help to personalise tanning results – whether you desire a long-standing tan, or you're an event tanner looking for an instant hit of glowing colour for an event that evening, bronzers can provide great results for all tanners.Look out for our LOTION OF THE MONTH for great offers on our favourite lotions - sure to bring you the best results and to really maximise your tanning session!
