Combination of Obstacles
Hey there, my powerfully determined friend!I know, you may be saying, “Pam, I don’t feel powerfully determined!” Yep, I understand. I didn’t either. But like you, something compelled me to take an assessment like this one. Do you know what that says about you? You are searching for something better, something more than what you are experiencing right now. That makes you a powerfully determined human. With that said, let me tell you what else I know about you from your answers to the assessment. You are in that time of your life where you want to be all you can be. The journey feels a little unnerving because you are not sure what’s lying ahead, but that nudge to thrive while alive pushes you to move forward. You are good at guarding over your own castle. Meaning, you protect yourself well. I would venture to say, people have mistreated you, taken advantage of you, and devalued you. You have vowed to never allow that to happen again. When it comes to you, mistakes are not an option. If you do mess up, you are hard on yourself and say things about yourself that are…… well, not so nice. In these moments, believing you are a failure gets hammered in.You know disappointment well. What you wanted or the way you wanted something done, does not happen as you desired, making it hard to trust. You take care of things yourself and feel it is easier than relying on others who don’t follow through. You have the heart to help. When those around you need something done, they know they can rely on you. You feel exhausted and over-extended. Your time is misdirected, causing you to be at the bottom of the to-do list. This leaves little time to invest in you. Those things you love to do, you know, the ones that bring you joy and a sense of happiness? Yes, those things, all get pushed onto the “Someday” list that rarely gets accomplished.Your devoted heart can make you feel obligated to spend too much time with destructive people. You know what kind of people I am talking about. Yes, those who have nothing good to say. They seem to only focus on the negative. Let’s not forget the people who treat you with disrespect by manipulating you or talking down to you or taking advantage of you.The stress of life causes you to feel like checking out. You find yourself excessively reaching out to food, work, shopping, alcohol, or other devices to avoid and numb unwanted emotions. The obstacle in the way of you being your authentic, God-created self is a combination of “Holding a Grudge, Unmet Expectations, People-Pleasing and having an Unhealthy Environment”.Did you feel a little overwhelmed in hearing you have a combination of obstacles? I get it, I did too. Hang in there and remember, right now, you are on a fact-finding mission. I have the steps and answers to guide you along your journey. The fear of the unknown can be strong, pulling us into a place where we are tempted to stay in our comfort zone. There comes a time when we must do something different to get different. With that in mind, I will be sending you a series of emails containing tools and steps to help you reach that goal of being your authentic self.I will see you in your inbox.
