Each day when you leave work have a post shift routine/ritual that triggers your brain to know it is time to go home! My favortite post work rituals are:Do some breathing exercisesListen to my fave hype songCall my BFFGo drive to the ocean to relax and reflectBut my absolute personal FAVE is a solid post shift reflection. The one I have used for years and years is HERE! Check it out! Get More EnergyYou feeling tapped out? You finish your shift, come home and crash, lay on the couch and just veg out. It feels fine to a point but sometimes you wish you had more energy to do other things that bring you joy? Here are some things to think about when you are feeling low vibe: 1. What is triggering you? Did you not sleep well? Was your shift difficult? Why? What it a patient encounter? Did you not eat or drink water? Once you know what is triggering you it makes it a lot more easy to address it and move through the emotions.2. What are you putting in your body? Are you eating healthful foods? How much protein are you getting? Are you snacking or eating big meals? Stay cued into what food energizes you and what ones drain you. 3. How much are you moving? Even a walk is a good thing. You can change your state of being by even just doing ten jumping jacks, shaking it out, dancing it out or standing up and taking a power pose. Movement will get you feeling better mentally and also give you mroe energy. It doesn't need to be complicated! ASSESS YOUR ENVIRONMENTSometimes our issue is not anything we are doing wrong, it is truly a manifestation of our environment. Maybe you are working the frontlines with horrific staffing, or maybe you have toxic leadership. Look around you, what in your environment is triggering you? What is in your control and what is not? What is truly a deal breaker and what is not. How can you self advocate? Do you need to save yourself and walk away?If this Quiz is not inclusive enough for you, which I expect if you are truly burned out it isn't I would love to hear from you in my DMs on Instagram or through email at selfcarecatalyst@gmail.com. Information about mentorship is HERE as well and the waitlist is below if you need more personalized in depth support, guidance and accountability.
