Your quiet time style is… The Movement Quiet TimeYour RhythmYou are able to focus and connect best when you can engage with God in tangible, physical ways. Did you know that research has shown that movement-oriented learners tend to be better at solving problems, creative activities, and exploring? You can take how God has uniquely wired you to better connect with Him!Here are a few ideas to get you started: Take a prayer walk outside, especially if it’s a place that’s new to you. Have a worship dance party in your car or living room where you can freely dance around and sing as loud as you can. Doodle, draw, or letter in the edges of your Bible as you’re reading or listening to it being read. Listen to an audio Bible or Christian podcast while walking, folding laundry, doing dishes, or exercising.Meditate on a single verse while stretching, walking, or running. Your ResponsibilityAs believers and people who love God, Scripture tells us that it is our responsibility to obey and value what God values. We need to get our hearts to a posture and to a place where we are desperate for an encounter with the one, true living God every day. Friends, I want that for you. Because I know that If we aren’t taking the time to engage with the Word of God and reflect on who Jesus was to us and on the character of God, then we are only able to reflect back on the hurt and pain that we are seeing in this world. What you reflect is what you become. And you and I? We are going to become the kind of people who are intentional about engaging with God no matter what season we are in because we know that no one will do it for us. We are going to shift our time, effort and margin into strengthening our souls. Together, we are going to re-evaluate what it means to be a strengthened follower of Christ in a season of hard things. Your Next StepsIf you listened to my recent episode on my Lessons From the Farm podcast, you will have heard me mention how just FOUR days a week in the Word of God can not only increase our faith and willingness to share the Gospel, but has been proven to help with toxic thought patterns. So here's the deal...For the next five weeks, I want you to commit to spending FOUR days a week actively connecting with God. I’ve given you some ideas above to get started, but I know that if you can commit to those four days, your soul will be strengthened. And don’t we all need a bit of soul strengthening right now?I’ve included a handy habit tracker for you that you can download to help you stay on track. Keep it in your journal, your bible, on your kitchen counter, or wherever it will spark a reminder for you! Lastly, subscribe to the Lessons From the Farm podcast so we can unpack more about what it means to intentionally and authentically engage with God from a place of obedience and surrender. Good on you — taking this quiz is a BIG step in the right direction. I’m going to shoot you an email (or two) to cheer you on along the way!
