THE OBLIGER
Who You AreYou’re an obliger! You want to know what should be done, so you can do it the right way, and make sure you uphold outer expectations. You always find ease in following along with and committing to the standards that other people have for you, but when it comes to working on your own goals, you may find that you fall a bit flat. You thrive on external motivation, but don’t have as easy a time motivating yourself. It comes more naturally to you to see something through if you know someone else is counting on you. For example, when you know you want to commit to something, you’ll seek out assistance from others—even if indirect. If you decide you’d like to become a runner, you know you’ll have more success in joining a daily running club with a friend than simply setting a daily running goal of your own. What You NeedAccountability. When you know there’s someone expecting a certain result from you, you’re always going to deliver, because the structure of accountability is, for you, how you find your motivation. The Next Step In Your Home Building ProcessYou’d work best with an interior designer who is diligent about keeping the project moving along, while offering you expert advice and support. And, as luck would have it, I’m a big fan of providing that necessary support, and am more than happy to be your design project’s accountability partner.
