you're a...relaxation and routine eater
You love a good routine! And maybe you’re quite the homebody, too. You love to come home after a long work day, put on your cozy comfy clothes, and snuggle up on the couch with your pets or significant other to have some snacks and watch your favorite show. You’re a nostalgic person and you love sharing great experiences with the people you care about. You love having your favorite foods that are associated with certain memories and experiences. That means great food, snacks, desserts, and delicious beverages - because this life is for living, right? You eat for comfort, you eat to relax, you eat because food tastes great and you want to enjoy it! But sometimes that indulgence gets in the way of how you want to feel in your body. Maybe you find yourself feeling guilty after eating for comfort. You’ve tried to break out of the habit of eating just to eat, or eating when you’re not actually physically hungry…But it’s just so hard to create a new habit around food after all these years. Food feels like a cozy, comforting safety blanket for you. You’ve tried getting rid of all your favorite snacks, treats, and desserts so you won’t be able to eat them. But that leads to even MORE cravings so you end up binging when you finally do have access to those foods. You love food - but now you have a love/hate relationship with food because you want to enjoy it, but often feel guilty and overwhelmed about what to eat, and how much to eat. Here are some tips to help you be more mindful of emotional eating: Identify the situations and times you’re most likely to find yourself emotional/boredom eating. What triggers you to eat? How can you incorporate more self-care, creative activities, fun and relaxation into your life - even just a little bit? These are your challenges for the week ahead!Have we met? Hi, I'm Kathrine Kofoed! Nutritionist and ACE-certified health coach with a B.S. in Biology, B.S. in Psychology, and M.S. in Human Nutrition. At Passion for Plants Health Coaching, my mission is to help as many individuals as possible break up with binge and emotional eating, create a healthy relationship with food, implement healthy habits for the long term, and leave the guilt + shame of the diet industry behind. I specialize in teaching you what you need to know about nutrition, fitness, integrative health, food psychology, and building healthy habits that last for life. My clients achieve lasting results with their health and mindset because my coaching philosophy is based in the science around behavior change: in short, I only use techniques that truly work. To me, ‘success’ when reaching your health goals is not how fast you’re able to drop 20 pounds. True success means you’re able to build habits and a lifestyle that lead to your health goals - and then be able to maintain that for life. It's being able to feel confident around making intentional food choices - free from restriction, guilt or anxiety. This is what I teach my clients, and what I share with you across all platforms. I believe you can balance all of the indulgences in life, AND still reach your health goals. I believe optimal wellbeing comes from valuing mental, physical, and emotional health - not one over the other. This balanced, holistic approach is what makes Passion for Plants a comprehensive and transformational health coaching platform: it’s about your mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing.I approach your health goals and behavior change with a nonjudgmental, compassionate philosophy, so that we can collaborate and create an action plan that feels exciting and aligned for you. ⚡✨Check Out These Resources to Stop Emotional and Binge Eating This Month ✨⚡1.
