Consult your physician or other health care provider regarding your symptoms and medical needs.Hibernation time. It's time to rest deeply, my friend. In Phase 1, you may find that you are constantly exhausted and that even the smallest "normal" activity can cause a crash. You may find that sensory input "hurts" most of the time and that it's just plain difficult to move. Things like showering or basic self-care activities may leave you exhausted. At this point, your body is lacking stores of energy and is not producing energy effectively, so the body is working at a deficit. It needs every little bit of energy to go towards healing and towards your base body functions like the heart pumping, breathing, the brain functioning... It can be scary when you're so exhausted (along with the other myriad symptoms you're probably experiencing!), but the good news is that your body is giving you *very clear signals* that it's time to rest. In this phase your #1 job is RADICAL REST. Like...even more than you ever thought possible. (see below for more information on Radical Rest and Beditations). These will all help you to not crash as often, but you'll still need to address the Root Cause of what allowed you to get ill in the first place. You can watch How to Recover from Long Covid and ME/CFS to learn how to fully heal from any lingering symptoms or pre-existing chronic illnesses you might be experiencing.✨ BOOK YOUR FREE HEALTH STRATEGY SESSION WITH LORRIE ✨--What does Radical Rest look like? • Listen to your body...if at any point you feel like you need rest, do it!• Rest as much as possible...you really can't over do rest at this point• Limit all activities to the bare bare minimum, including social, cognitive, and physical.Practice Radical Rest with twice daily scheduled "Beditations." (Sooooo many of my clients and students have had really great gains from doing this simple practice!)What is a Beditation?• At least twice daily for 30 minutes or more (some people do an hour or more!)• Lying down in a dark room with no interruptions• Meditate, listen to a guided meditation, listen to soothing music, or sleep• Beditations are NOT: being on your phone looking at social media, listening to a Podcast, watching TV, etc 😉 😆You might also try adding in a very very *very* gentle yoga class I created especially for Phase 1...click here for yoga classes according to Phases of Healing. ✨ BOOK YOUR FREE HEALTH STRATEGY SESSION WITH LORRIE ✨Your Healing Journey with LorrieHey there!
