Die-Hard Dean
This type of teacher is a great teacher, but they work too hard and have little to show for their life outside of their caseload’s accomplishments. Always driven to succeed, this teacher may be trapped by wanting external validation from their co-workers and admins by working long hours and often agreeing to add more to their plate. This leaves little time for themselves or to spend time doing things that light them up outside of work. The unfortunate end of this path is typically burnout. Die-Hard Deans may leave education earlier than they’d like simply out of a need for balance. YOUR NEXT STEPS… You love teaching! You’re great at it! But you need a little more balance in your life. Start by creating systems, learn to Delete, Automate, and Delegate your tasks, and create a more balanced life.
