You’re a... Gradual Release Sleep Parent
When it comes to goals, yours are to raise secure and happy kids. Your household has rules and behavioral expectations, but you don’t bank on your children following them blindly. Instead, you explain why they are important guidelines to follow. For bedtime you have a bedtime routine, that you follow pretty religiously. You value independent sleep but choose to gradually teach your child this as opposed to a cry it out method. It’s important to you that your children feel like they have you by their side when things get tricky. This means that you might have coslept for a little longer than you would have liked but your child feels secure around bedtime and that's all the matters. On top of that, you know your child so well. But with knowing your child as well as you do it makes it hard to decipher the best approach when it comes to bedtime - that's where I come in."The thing about parenting rules is there aren’t any. That’s what makes it so difficult." — Ewan McGregorHow to make the most of your time as a balanced parent...1. Teach your children their routineGet your children involved in the bedtime routine process. Once they are take charge it will help them feel confidence and in control, which equals a secure child.2.
