Hestia: The Goddess of Home
Our home life plays an integral role in our overall health (mind,body, soul). Disorganization can and does lead to dis-ease. Hestia is not only the goddess of home but also the goddess of cooking the family meal. Our home is our safe space, it’s where we go to unwind, unload and replenish our cup. When it comes to our journey to physical health, we must look at how our external life is being run. We currently live in a world where quick meals and a fast paced life style is the name of the game but when you are on a journey to physical health we must slow down, look at our home and see what we can adjust to reach our goals. Keeping certain foods in the home that are our comfort foods or trigger foods may not be the best option at least for where you are currently in your fitness journey. Furthermore, what sort of cooking schedule can you implement in your world that you know you can stick to?Try this: Replace your favorite foods with healthier versions of them. For example, if you’re a pasta lover, replacing it with a protein pasta; replacing rice with cauliflower rice, replacing peanut butter with almond butter etc. You can also get your family involved in taking turns cooking a dinner or a lunch or even better doing together as a family activity, finding new recipes and trying them out and learning what you like and what you don’t like is key to having success on your weight loss journey.
