You're THE CLIMBING ROSE 🌹
Thoughtful. Kind. GenerousHi there Climbing Rose! Here's what I know about you ...You’re thoughtful, kind, generous and always willing to show up for others. It’s why you’re so loved and respected. You’ve mastered life’s “rules'' and know how to meet people’s expectations which has been a gift, allowing you to fit in, build great friendships, and get where you are, all while never rocking the boat. You seem happy, fulfilled and everyone’s go-to gal. Climbing Roses are always first to “do the right thing” and your servant-hearted integrity means you’re the first to volunteer your gifts for a friend or stranger and will even give yourself to the making of someone else’s dream. Being a wonderful team player, daughter in law, wife, friend, and hostess, has been fulfilling, something you’d never regret but deep inside you have a sense there’s more to life, to who you are, and you’re missing something. It’s not that you don’t have a dream, a call, or know who you are. You do – even if it’s been so long it’s started to fade – and this is what makes your sacrifice greater. Given the choice between letting people down or letting your dreams go … you sacrifice yourself. Now’s the time to focus on you and who you’re called to be.What's holding you back ...At some point in your story Climbing Roses start to believe that putting others; their needs, rules and expectations, first, is the right thing to do. While it makes you a wonderful friend, mom, co-worker, and volunteer, and has been fulfilling at times, it has put you and your dreams and needs second. For the most part you’ve been happy to do it but you know you have something you were created to do so you’ve ended up either hiding in plain sight or playing small. Maybe even losing yourself or growing a bit bitter. Here's what your people would say ...The people who count and know you best would say you're a true friend who's been there for them, cheered them on and they're so grateful. But if they could be honest for a second they'd tell you they're worried there's a small part of you dying inside. They can tell there's a call inside you waiting to come out, a God-given dream you know is there, even if it's very, very quiet, and not going for it robs the world of your potential and all you have to offer. So they'd say ... "Thank you for everything but now it's time to for it! Don't worry about what others think or expect of you, it's time to shine and be you! We're with you all the way."A FEW NEXT STEPS FOR YOU: Hi there fellow Climbing Rose.I'm an author, speaker, fresh air junkie, and nature lover who left college with a Zoology degree in her pocket and a dream to be TV nature show host. I live in the foothills of North Carolina with my husband and ridiculous Doodle, Charlie, who, let's be real, is the main reason our three grown kids come home to visit! We've left the corporate world, planted churches, started businesses and non profits, been to seminary, move continents, and navigated loss, cancer, and painful uncertainty.Along the way I discovered life doesn't have to be pain free to be full and my book, Breathe Again: How to Live Well When Life Falls Apart about how to go live it ,was nominated for an Audi Award. My devotion One Minute Prayers for Women with Cancer, is a constant best seller (unfortunately!). I've been featured on the Hallmark Channel, Life Today, and in Relevant Magazine and book #3 comes out March 2025. It's time to love and live your one beautiful, wild, life, and love and be the "you" God created you to be.It’s Time To Leave The Trellis BehindTrellises are great when you’re young and need support. They help you grow tall and strong but there comes a time when a Climbing Rose needs to break free. Clinging to other people’s trellises is restrictive, shaping you into someone else’s idea of beauty, but it’s time for you to forge your own journey and climb your own trellis. It’s time to stop hiding, doubting, second-guessing, putting yourself last and worrying about what other people think. Every Time you do, you say “No thanks” to who God called you to be and a little bit of you is lost, all in service of not rocking the boat. What if you said “I’m in, God. I’m scared but let’s do it!” and unstoppably stepped into your God-created self? Now what?Choose your own adventureThe Wildly Known Collective.
