Sensory Seeker!
Your child may be a “sensory seeker!” Seekers are under responsive to sensory input and experience touch, movement, taste, smell and visual experiences less intensely than others. This leads them to constantly seek the input their nervous system craves to regulate and appropriately interact with their environment. Sensory seeking may present as a disregard for personal space, hyperactivity, lack of focus, easily breaking things, frequently injuring themselves or others and many other commonly misunderstood behaviors. Sensory Seekers typically improve their ability to regulate with a SENSORY DIET that includes purposeful & organized vestibular and proprioceptive input, calming deep pressure and opportunities for messy play!
